About the projectPMMail has been a favorite email client of many OS/2-eCS users for quite some time. As the product appeared to be falling into a state of "maintenance mode" several members of VOICE began to enquire as to the possibility of purchasing the rights to the source code to renew development. The result of this was that the members of VOICE voted to purchase the source for development. PMMail/2 is free to all VOICE members who were paid-up members as of December 31, 2006. The sale of PMMail/2 to others will involve VOICE membership plus $25. At this point no outside sales are intended. ASpell packagesASpell is an optional feature for PMMail to provide spell checking in several languages. Download the base file and one or more language files and put them in the same directory as the PMMail/2 WPI installer. Starting with PMMail version 3.24, you should use rpm/yum instead of these packages. Base file for Aspell spell check package. German language file for Aspell spell check package. English language file for Aspell spell check package. Spanish language file for Aspell spell check package. French language file for Aspell spell check package. Italian language file for Aspell spell check package. |

RegistrationPMMail/2 allows limited usage until it is registered. The limitations are:
Migration InstructionsPlease bear in mind that this is software; there may be bugs, omissions and/or the possibility of data loss. You must backup your existing mailstore and program dependent files before installation of PMMail/2. The installer has been designed to "copy, then convert" mailer data wherever possible. It is not necessary to uninstall earlier betas before installing PMMail/2. It is OK to upgrade PMMail/2 version 3.x or a Beta 1, 2, 3 or 4 installation to PMMail/2 3.25. * The new PMMail mailstore is not backward compatible with version 2.x. * PMMail has a greater abundance of status indicators, specifically for Spam/NoSpam, Send Pending and Undeleteable. Flag storage required some changes and additional fields to the <folder.bag> file which breaks full compatibility with older versions. Those status indicators are lost when an older version, either OS/2 or windows, loads the mailstore. The address book and filter file formats are unchanged (to date) and have no known incompatibilities.
